Is it safe to clean small sewage spills myself?
A toilet overflow of clean tank water, maybe. Anything from a drain backup — no. The pathogens aren't visible and the porous materials they soak into can't be surface-cleaned.
Does insurance cover sewage backups?
Often only if you carry a sewer/water backup endorsement — many OKC policies exclude it by default. We document either way and work with your adjuster.
